Year of Hope - A New Year, A New Hope

Over the past year, I have been speaking of the need for the people to come together, The Year of Unity. I also wrote about reconnecting, with nature, with other creatures, and mostly with each other. I must admit that at times I have felt overwhelmed, other times depressed. This was especially apparent as the year came to a close and frankly except for the people who have come together online, I did not see this in real life around me. Every day I looked for signs that things were changing. Except for a few Ron Paul signs, or signs welcoming one of our troops home, I didn't see much for change. If anything it just seemed that people were getting more and more disconnected and ruder to each other.
I was beginning to lose hope.
I had read about the crystal skulls and one of the requirements for them to come together and release their wisdom was that the world had to return to a time of peace, harmony, and balance. I listened to the news and the saber rattling the President was doing towards Iran. He tried to tell people to ignore the report that came out saying that Iran had given up on their nuclear weapon program years ago. He tried to push the fear that he pushed on people to get us into Iraq. This time, the people did not bite. A glimmer of hope?
I was reading Mother Jones news and saw the article on Ron Paul. it told how despite the media all but ignoring Ron Paul, he led in all polls on the Internet. Though the bought out media refused to report on him or the phenomenon he appears to be causing on the Internet, he was beating everyone in the polls being done by independents on the web. Could an outsider, an though he is a Republican, he has never toed the party line, so in a way he is an outsider. As some accuse him of being a Libertarian in Republican clothing. Could there be a chance for an outsider to succeed? Could the people rise up in protest of the media, the government, and vote in someone who hasn't been tagged, packaged and thrust before us? Could there be a glimmer of hope that our government could change for the better? That freedoms that have been stripped from us, be returned? That the environmental protections that were dismantled so that corporations could strip more land, destroying waterways, forests, and whole mountains to gain profit, be put back in place?
I see more and more prophesies being posted and talked about, from he Hopi, the Anishinabe, the Maya, and others. More people are talking about being at the crossroads. They speak about having to make a change, a choice. There is more talk about the Rainbow Warriors starting to rise up.
All of these things have given me a lot to think about as the old year came to a close and the new year sprouted to life. As the clock struck midnight last night, I was reminded of an answer I received during one of my prayers. I had been frustrated by the lack of any visible signs of change over the year. If anything, it appeared that things were getting worse. Yet, the answer I received was that I, as well as many others across the world, were planting seeds. These seeds were beginning to germinate. More and more people were reading, not only what I had to write, but what others across the world were writing. I began to see little snippets sneaking into our movies, TV, music. Maybe what I have written may have not reached anyone, but there were others. I was not alone. That is an empowering notion. Not being alone. A notion that gives hope that maybe the task the spirits had set before me, to unite the people, was not so far out of reach as I thought. Maybe it was not so overwhelming.
Years ago, I had considered being a psychiatrist. I was precluded from doing so due to lack of funds to go to school. Yet, I was fascinated with human sexuality. Bear with me, there is a point. Though I was not going to school, I figured I would start collecting data, interviewing people about sex. It was off the cuff, off the record, but more to see if my hypothesis was correct. One thing that blew my mind was people's openness to talk to me. I mean, this is a very personal subject and many knew that at one time I had almost become a priest. Yet, it was almost like a relief that they could share their deepest, darkest fantasies with someone. It was amazing to learn this side of people whom I never would have thought would be interested in the things they were. How does this tie back? Well, it is what is going on behind closed doors, or minds. It all goes back to those seeds. I may not see any changes around me, but that does not mean that people are not thinking about things. Why haven't the people followed along with Bush and okayed the bombing of Iran? Maybe those seeds are taking hold and the people are getting to the point of saying enough!
Over the past couple of weeks we heard about the Lakota declaring their independence from the US and seeking to take back five states. The people behind it were seeking support from the international community. While this was going nowhere because the elders did not support this, it did bring attention to the plight of the Lakota people to the international community. Love or hate, Russell Means and his people, they had the cajonas to say, Enough! The whole idea of independence may just have been a ploy to get the world looking at what is happening to them, but it did get some attention.
More and more, I am reading online of people saying that they have had enough. People are spreading the word about the suspension of habeas corpus, the Senate Bill 1959 - Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act, that seeks to quiet opposition, and the many other acts that have been put into place to limit our rights. All of this allowed because we were led into fear after 9/11 and thought our government would protect us. We gave the keys of power to those who sought it most.
We have listened to our government tell us that they know what is best for us. We have seen every measure to fix the health care system shot down. We are told to ignore the other systems like in Britain, France, Canada and Cuba. We are told they are bad systems, yet Michael Moore, love him or leave him, made a film, Sicko, where he went to those countries and interviewed the people. Guess what, they like their health system and say they would never go to the US, that would be crazy. For decades we listened to our government tell us about the evil empire, the Russians. After I had met some Russians personally and spoke to them I learned that their government was saying the same thing about us. Yet, people to people, we liked each other. Maybe we need to get rid of the governments.
Many will tell us that those of us who write/blog, or speak to people on the Internet are living in a fantasy world. Maybe, maybe not. One thing I have found is that I can speak to people all over the world. One thing comes back. Everyone wants the same thing, peace, harmony and balance. They all want to see hunger, poverty, and disease go away. They all want to see the end to wars.
There is where the hope lies. Here, on the Internet, the world community of people. Here the seeds are planted and the people go off into their communities and speak of what has been said here. Soon, others come, they exchange ideas, they speak of change, and then with hope, they take action to bring about the change.
I have heard many people say that we have to envision the world we want to live in. Envision it and we will make it so. Quantum physics agrees with them. I say that besides simply thinking that world into existence we have to begin to act like it is so. As we get ready for the Iowa primaries, I ask, are you ready to act? Do you want to just lazily push the button for the incumbent and whomever the media is touting at the moment? Or do you really want to change the world? Maybe here in America, we need to take after our counterparts in Australia and vote them all out. What have we got to lose? If we just pull the lever and vote the same people back in, are we changing anything?
We are standing on the cusp of a new age. The crossroads spoken of in many prophesies. We can choose to continue along our current path and change nothing, or we can choose to return to a life of balance, harmony, and respect for all living things.
I have hope that people have been giving this real thought over this past year. I have hope that we are going to see major changes in the coming year. I have hope that the people are going to come together and say enough!

My heart to your heart, one heart, one spirit.

Oh, one more thing. Some have asked if I could put together the writings of last year, Year of Unity and Reconnecting. I have put this into an ebook in pdf format. Unfortunately, I have not found a place to put it where people can download it. Yahoo groups allows you to store files, but under 5mb. When I find a place, I will let you all know. If you want a copy and your email will accept large files, then private mail me your address and I will email it to you.

Keep the hope alive.

I've felt that same sense of frustration, something that's gotten me to a bit of a “burned out” sort of place over the last few months… it's amazing and sad to see what appears to be complete and total “inactivity” or lack of willingness amoung people to make a real difference (ok, there's a better means of expression for it- bear with me, it's early as I write!)… but then we see those small signs that shows there is indeed hope- but, a great amount of work yet left to do. Against all odds, through the sense of “burning out” and perhaps even edging on (or actually) losing some bit or all hope, we trudge on. We keep going… and in the end, we *do* make a difference… and often enough, inspire others to do likewise (hopefully, starting a chain reaction…). The internet can indeed be a fantasy world- I see it in so many Lists and activities I'm involved with elsewhere. People lose themselves in a fantasy life that they can easily escape to here…. and it's easy to fall into that trap with the crush of life and all of its problems… but it's also a wonderful tool of communication, and as such, has the very real potential to bring folk information, and bring them together… and hopefully plant those seeds of change, inspire folk to make it happen.

Beautiful.
I have come to the same conclusions on my own (as anyone on their Own will discover)… that through the internet, and knowing hearts and minds from across the Earth, that we want the same things…we want the right things. Ahh but there's the Middleman…the Gossiper…The Government, egging everyone on to annihilate themselves and all to willing to help. But the People…The People are standing up, are being more self-empowered and waking up to what is Really going on.
Thank God for the Internet! A source of inspiration and connection, without having the Government's version of The Truth being drummed into our senses. They're wrong and not acting for the majority of the People, nor are they speaking for the People.
I would much rather be Here, learning and living with You and Zaadzsters, than just sitting and listening to what the gov. and media has to say through Their means.
Thank You WhiteWolf,
~Ariela

Yes I so agree with you Resurrected one the internet is a powerful connection for those who wish to see hope, peace and love unite.
Thank you for your blog Whitewolf and know that all your work and words have not been in vain.
If I have learnt anything from my experiences is that we are given that which is within our perfect role and paths.
All that you have shared and brought our attention to has been your choosen role and blessed knowing.
Those who pray for peace and harmony now know that their intention and vision will bring about powerful change and a greater awareness of the strength of spiritual being.
Keep up the good work brother for the world is a better place with those who choose to love and share their words and time in goodness.
Nothing is wasted, each prescious moment counts in eternity, all that change is manifesting now as we speak and see.
Here's to 2008 the year of hope!

as is said, “it's always darkest before the dawn.” and I believe the closer we drew to the last of 2007, the more darkness of spirit descended upon the earth and its inhabitants. it was an end….it feels like….through there will be other endings in smaller rooms than what just occured. and they might be louder. but i think this was a larger ending and felt very dark for many on the path. the light is returning, slowly…we must keep our focus on the horizon, hold our highest frequency and not be discouraged by the shadows that cross our path…..
