Ghost Dance

I've got that song playing in my head all the time. Robbie Robertson did a song called Ghost Dance. I heard a snippet about it in a book I read, something about a Jack Wilson, and of course, Sitting Bull. Then I was reading a book last night, Vision Quest, in the section it is relating a journey one person had. They found themselves on the side of a cliff and found a half build fire ring, so they completed it and started a fire to sit for a while. When he looked up, there was a Native American in jeans and shirt sitting across from him. He panicked and started to kick the fire out, but then settled down. The person sitting there told him that it was his fire, but he was willing to share, so the the unsettled journeyer sat with some trepidation. The image of the person became blurry at times and the journeyer believed it to be an apparition. The Native American spoke and said he was the Cutter. He went on to explain that his white name was Jack Wilson and he was considered the Native American Christ. It was he who brought the Ghost Dance to the people. He explained further the purpose of the ghost dance and then asked the journeyer to join him. He said to keep dancing and it will bring about the changes. We shall live again, we shall live again.
Interesting how lately I am hearing a lot about the Ghost Dance. I wonder what this means?
